From the custodians making sure buildings are clean and ready for the next day to those in information technology assisting employees and students with their technology needs, to our Early Childhood Education classified staff helping with the littlest learners in our school district, each of these roles and more are classified employees. 

With over 1,900 classified employees in dozens of positions across the district, these staff serve a vital role in helping students, staff, and families. We could not support students without their work. 

To keep our community informed about long-range planning efforts, we will send an update after each meeting of and presentation by the PSD Facilities Planning Steering Committee to the school board.

Each year, schools and childcare centers across Colorado are required to send parents and guardians a letter with links to information about immunizations and details about: 

The ÐÞ³µ´ó¶Ó Board of Education is considering changes to school start and end times for the 2024-25 school year; the changes will not go into effect this school year.

Board members are seeking input about start and end times. PSD staff, parents and guardians, and community members are encouraged to take 

Coming in from the playground at ÐÞ³µ´ó¶Ó¡¯s Livermore Elementary School, students in Kat Jayroe's kindergarten and first-grade classes leap into literacy. 

Jayroe reads a chapter from a ¡°Magic Treehouse¡± novel to help shift students from one activity to the next. After excitedly answering questions about the story, they move into their literacy skills block, which focuses on the foundational skills needed to learn how to read. 

Fourth grader Nikhil Ganta is the 2024 champion of the ÐÞ³µ´ó¶Ó Spelling Bee. The Traut Elementary School student successfully spelled "fluoride" to win the title after competing through 17 rounds with second place winner Ellie Dunigan-Atlee, an eighth grader at Ridgeview Classical Middle School. During the district bee, participants were asked to spell words such as: campanology, doldrums. cauterize, coiffure, dysgraphia, Halifax, and tercentenary.

Thank you for taking the time to follow the work of the PSD Facilities Steering Committee, which started its work Friday and Saturday to sustain the vibrancy of PSD schools ¨C today and into the future ¨C and address declining student enrollment, smaller budgets, and aging facilities.
